This site is dedicated to the baseball career of Ken Boyer, who played 15 seasons for the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Mets, Chicago White Sox, and Los Angeles Dodgers from 1955 to 1968.

Overshadowed by his contemporaries at third base such as Eddie Matthews, Brooks Robinson, and Ron Santo, Ken Boyer nonetheless distinguished himself with his great fielding and batting prowess over his 15-year major league career. He won five Gold Gloves and was named to the National League All-Star team seven times. The highlight of his playing career was being named the league's Most Valuable Player in 1964.

Boyer became captain of the St. Louis Cardinals in 1959, a title he held until he was traded to the New York Mets after the 1965 season. "It's the highest form of compliment a baseball player can be paid," his teammate Tim McCarver later said.

Ken Boyer Book Project

I am researching the life and baseball career of Ken Boyer with the intention of writing a biography about him. The purpose of this website is to share my research and hopefully learn more about him as a man and a ballplayer from those who knew him or watched him play.

I am very interested in contacting family members, friends, and teammates (amateur, minor, and major league) as well as fans interested in sharing their memories.

If you have memories you would like to share, please contact me here.
